Technology Application

MIMOS TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION

Currently, MIMOS is exploring and realising the CMOS and thin-film based sensing technologies for developing of MEMS-based applications and solutions. One research consideration is the development of networked in-situ water and soil monitoring systems for increasing yield and quality of agriculture produce. We are working to develop the integrated chemical sensors that are affordable and robust enough to be used in the agriculture industry. The end game is to increase the productivity for agriculture produce in view of the global warming effect and the land urbanisation. Another potential research area is in the monitoring of environmental pollutants to reduce the amount of pollutants in the water air and soil.

a) Collaboration with FELDA

Felda Agricultural Services (FAS) and MIMOS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate towards the development of Intelligent Plantations. The two parties are collaborating in six areas whereby MIMOS is developing new application for Felda based on its MEMS Sensor, Wireless, Semantic and Grid Computing technology platforms. One of the key thrusts of this collaborative venture is completed through deployment of “Integrated Pollination Readiness Monitoring System (IPRMS)”, which resulted in higher seed production yield and reducing manual monitoring in Felda’s plantations.
