MIMOS is the winner of two National Intellectual Property (NIP) Awards 2009 namely the Trademark Award for KnowledgeGrid Malaysia, and Industrial Design Award for MIMOS WiWi Access Point. MIMOS is also a three time Malaysia Good Design Mark Awards 2009 winner for agriculture data collector, MIMOS WiWi wireless router and Jen-ii under the Media and Home Electronics Products Category. MIMOS also bagged the Frost & Sullivan Growth Excellence Award – Industry Innovation & Advancement (Precision Agriculture) R&D Organisation of the Year 2007, through the application of Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) in the field.
| Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
MIMOS has been appraised at the highest maturity level (Maturity Level 5) on the Capability Maturity Model Integration CMMI-Dev v1.2 (Continuous Representation) on Oct 2009. CMMI is an internationally recognized process improvement model initiated by Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Melon University. MIMOS is the first Malaysian government agency and is among the top 100 elite organisations worldwide to obtain this prestigious achievement. |
| 6 Sigma
MIMOS has implemented Six Sigma using the DMAIC and DMADV methodology in the areas of research and product development. To date MIMOS has a total of 508 White Belt, 44 Green Belt, 7 Black Belt and 1 MBB in the organization. Moving forward MIMOS is looking at creating an innovative framework using Six Sigma and TRIZ to support solution idea generation in research environment. |
